Name: Jordan Jimcoily

Hometown: Belle Chasse, La.

Jordan is serving as a member of the NCCC FEMA Corps team Pine 6 at the Vinton Campus. He is no stranger to national service. In 2010 he joined the AmeriCorps National program YouthRebuild Louisiana and followed that up by serving in Vinton as a member of AmeriCorps NCCC Class 17.

Jordan decided to join NCCC FEMA Corps member because he has seen the destruction of natural disasters firsthand. His family experienced the loss of their home during Hurricane Gustav in 2008 and was affected by Hurricane Isaac in August 2012.

Jordan is excited for the opportunity to continue meeting new people through service this year and hopes to eventually work for FEMA so he can continue doing disaster recovery work in communities across the country.
