I would like to be the first to welcome our newest member of the BCCB, Randy Scheel.  Today the Board of County Supervisors voted to appoint Randy to the Conservation Board.   I wanted to personally thank Randy for his interest in conservation and his hard work on the OCNT through the years.  I know that he will help us grow the department to new levels.  I look forward to working with him, and welcome him to our team.

Randy's biography, in his words:

I was born and raised in Garrison and graduated from Vinton in 1983.  I went to Coe College and graduated in 1987 with a BA in Psychology.  After college, I worked in the trucking industry for 13.5 years as the director of recruiting for one of the country's largest carriers.  In August 2003 I joined the Hightower Advertising Agency which allows me to work from home.  As a result, my family decided to move back "home" and have lived NW of Garrison for the past 8 years.

I am married to Teresa and we have three daughters, Abby (14), Brenna (12) and Rylee (10).  I am currently an elder at St Mark's Lutheran Church in Garrison and also am President of the Old Creamery Nature Trail.  I also serve on the Benton County Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management committee, the Regional Trails Committee through the ECICOG and am one of the captains of the Viking Alumni Football Team.  I enjoy hunting, fishing and running.
