Hawkeye Community College Hosts Automation Education Event November 7

In response to the increasing demand for skilled workers trained in automation technologies, Hawkeye Community College, in collaboration with FANUC America and Mission Learning Systems, will host an exciting event to address how automation is transforming the industrial workforce in Iowa.This event will bring together leaders from education, industry and government to discuss the future of manufacturing and the vital role that educational institutions play in preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers.

Friends of the Vinton Public Library celebrate National Friends of Libraries Wk.

The Vinton Public Library will be spending the week of October 20-26, 2024, celebrating its Friends of the Library group as part of the 19th annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week. The Friends of the Library will celebrate by having a table at the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department Spooktacular Day in downtown Vinton on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

Prairie Creek Church to Host Chili Supper

Prairie Creek Church will be hosting a community Chili Supper on November 2nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy chili, a relish tray, desserts, and drinks. The event is open to the public, and there is no set cost—meals are available for a free-will donation. All are welcome to join for a warm meal and fellowship!

Join us at Vinton's Celebration Park for lunch with the library staff! Bring a sack lunch and join us in the gazebo for a casual conversation about books; we’ll have a limited number of adult fiction titles available for checkout.
