Center Point Museum to Open Sunday, June 6
After a year shut down for the pandemic, the Center Point Historical Society Depot Museum will re-open on Sunday, June 6, from 2-4. Museum admission is free.Society members met April 26, 2021, and decided to open the Museum Sunday afternoons, 2-4, through September. Pending changes in national and local health recommendations, guests are asked to please mask.

THE BOOK SALE IS BACK!FRIENDS OF CP LIBRARY PLANS FOR JUNE 11, 12The annual Friends of the Center Point Library used book sale—canceled like everything else in our lives last year because of the pandemic—is on for this year. At its masked, getting-back-in-action meeting last week Friends planned to hold the BIG book sale during the 2021 Center Point Lions Club Pork Days celebration.

If you have muscle or can handle a wrench or any other talents needed to construct a playground, your help is needed at the Kiwanis Park on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. The new playground equipment has arrived and is waiting to be assembled.The Vinton Parks and Recreation will be there to give direction and will thank you immensely for your help!

This summer Join VSCSD for FREE breakfast and lunch!
Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District (VSCSD) will be offering complimentary breakfast and lunch to all children and teens, ages 1-18, in both the Tilford and Shellsburg Elementary school lunchrooms this summer. No registration or identification is required. Children five and under must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone over the age of 19 may purchase a breakfast meal for $2 and a lunch meal for $3. Take fun, educational virtual field trips across the state with Iowa PBS Education's newest initiative, FIND Iowa! The Fun Investigating New Discoveries (FIND) Iowa project encourages students in grades 2-5 to investigate our state through the use of immersive and interactive learning content. Just in time for Earth Day on Thursday, April 22, FIND Iowa's first virtual field trip, Iowa's Geology, is available for teachers and families.

Pink up you Pace
On June 18, 2021, you can Pink up you Pace at the Annual Party in Pink. Beginning at Riverside Park, the Kids Fun Run will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and the 5K Walk/Run will begin at 6:00 p.m.You can choose to participate in the Chipped Timing or Virtually.
