Wesley United Methodist ChurchBlue Christmas Service - Sunday, December 20Blue Christmas Service will be hosted on Facebook Live this Sunday, December 20, at 7:00 P.M. to honor those who are grieving during the holidays. As we all know this time of year can be especially difficult for those who grieve and so we're hoping this service encourages and lifts those who watch it.

Shellsburg American Legion BreakfastThe Shellsburg American Legion is holding Saturday morning breakfast. The hours are the same, 8 - 10 am. Starting in 2014, the Presbyterian Church of Vinton began providing meals for the community on Christmas day.  The mission was simple:  give a good meal to those who would otherwise be alone or without on Christmas day.  With the realities of Covid-19, the church is not able to do its usual social, sit-down dinner.  However, it is still sending out meals for pickup and delivery.

The Vinton Presbyterian Church is getting ready for its Annual Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 25, 2020. This year the meal will be held via pickup or delivery only. You must RSVP by December 23rd by calling 319-472-3766 or you can click here to register.If you are home-bound, the church will be happy to bring a meal to you.​Call the church office Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30-12:30.

Bundle up, grab your loved ones and check out Vinton's finest light displays! While you're at it, might as well vote for your favorite! There are ballot copies at the Rec Center. This Saturday from 10:00 to 1:00, John Ketchen and John's Qwik Stop will continue their history of generously supporting Vinton-Shellsburg school activities and community groups with a car wash fundraiser for the Vinton-Shellsburg Post Prom events and the Vinton Kiwanis Club. Ketchen has kicked off the event with a $1,000 donation to the Post Prom Committee.

This Saturday at our VFW Post 8884 Home 5999 25th Ave Trail Vinton (Old Animal Shelter) are welcoming all Veterans to come out for coffee and rolls.See what improvements have been made while remolding of our Post.The door will be open At 8:00 a.m.We hope to see all the Veterans!!

A reminder for those who have pre-registered that Breakfast with Santa (Drive-thru style!) will be held this Saturday, December 5th, 9-11:00 am $5.00 for anyone taking breakfastSanta will be handing out gift bags through vehicle windows and breakfast will be given in to-go containers. Must have pre-registered to participate.
