Center Point Historical Society presents "On the Wapsi" June 23

Outdoorsman and Cedar Rapids Gazette columnist Orlan Love will give a free talk about the Wapsipinicon River on Sunday, June 23, at 2 p.m. entitled "On the Wapsie" at the Center Point Historical Society Depot Museum, 700 E. Washington.“I was born and raised in Quasky,” Orlan said, “and I’ve been running around on that river for 55 years.”The Historical Society’s 2024 theme is Natural History.

Community Book Club, Saturday, June 15

Community Book Club will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 beginning at 9:15 a.m. at the Vinton Public Library located at 510 2nd Ave. in VInton. The book, "The Seed Keeper," by Diane Wilson will be the book for the discussion. 

Benton County Farm Bureau Cookout Contest 2024

Benton County Farm Bureau is happy to announce that they will be hosting their annual Cookout Contest again this year at the County Fair! This event will be held on Saturday, June 22nd. Contestants can begin cooking in the morning, with judging beginning at 4 PM.Categories this year include beef, pork, lamb, turkey, poultry, and youth.
