Art in the Park this Saturday, July 18
This Saturday, July 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Celebration Park, you can join the Vinton Parks and Rec Department for Art in the Park. There will be sidewalk chalk available for those who had not pre-registered. Stop on out and see the creativity!

The Shellsburg American Legion Breakfast will include:Special: Biscuits & Sausage GravyEggs to orderSausage pattyPancakesAll you can eat. Cost is Free Will Donation.The breakfast will be served to keep handling items to a minimum. We will try this as long as the state allows dinning of 10 or more in restaurants. We appreciate the past support for all the community does for the American Legion.
Rocky Railway featured at Oak Grove's Annual VBS Program
Climb aboard for mountains of fun at Rocky Railway! Soon to be mom having drive by baby shower
In a time when social distancing is changing the way we do, well everything, a soon to be mom in the area is asking for a bit of encouragement from the community. On Sunday, July 13, at 1:00 p.m. soon to be mom Sulea and dad Dustin, will be guests of honor at a drive-by baby shower. The couple is not asking for any gifts, but just some smiles and friendly waves from the community.
AMVETS seek community support during fundraising event Friday thru Sunday
The AMVETS will have the food trailer and be cooking at Theisen’s Fri- Sun. Starting around 10:30 a.m.This is going to be the fundraiser for the Scholarship Program in our area. As always, it is free will donation. The menu includes soda, chips, and sandwich – burger, brat, brat burger or hot dog. Our community support is appreciated.

Vinton Kiwanis to begin meeting
The Vinton Kiwanis club will hold their regular meeting at the Vinton Country Club on Tuesday. July 7, The meeting will begin at noon.
Dysart Lions' to hold 4th of July Parade
The city of Dysart will be having their annual July 4th parade which will begin at 10:30 a.m. with line up starting at 9:20 a.m. at the Dysart Middle School located at 505 West St. Parade Participants CANNOT throw candy or other items. Respectful social distancing practices would be appreciated. The Dysart Lions Club will be serving the world famous tenderloin with packaged condiments, chips and drink of your choice for $8.
