Flora, Fauna & Females: Wild Rose Campout
The Flora, Fauna & Females: Wild Rose Campout will be held October 12th at 11AM - October 13th at 10AM at Winegar and Tobin Wildlife Area - Wild Rose Cabin.Come join us for a night under the stars and make new gal pals! This overnight adventure is for women 21+ years of age to forge fresh friendships and strengthen the bonds you already have. Join us for a range of activities such as yoga, a mindfulness hike, nature journaling, nighttime scavenger hunt, candle painting, Dutch oven cooking, a coffee/tea station, team building exercises, stargazing, and much more! Campers will share a tent provided unless you opt to bring your own.
Nature Knowledge Day: Orienteering and Archery October 3rd, 9:30AM - 11:30AM
Nature Knowledge Day: Orienteering and Archery will be held on October 3rd, 9:30AM - 11:30AM at Rodgers Park. This event is geared toward 4th-12th graders.Discover the art of using a compass to unravel a riddle, and practice your archery skills in this two-hour session. Due to the nature of this program, it is best suited for kids in 4th grade and up.
Center Point Historical Society/Friends of the Library Doing a Thing about Ding
The Center Point Friends of the Library and Historical Society partner every fall for a Community Harvest Potluck and Program.This year’s program is a re-enactment of Des Moines Register political cartoonist and conservation leader Jay Norwood “Ding” Darling (1876-1962.) Tom Milligan of TKM Theatrical Productions in Amana plays the Pulitzer-Prize winning cartoonist.

The Center Point Historical Society will hold their 13th Annual Cemetery Walk on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.The Center Point Historical Society continues the tradition of an annual Sunday afternoon visit with late friends and neighbors in the Center Point Cemetery.Jacob Lemuel Floyd (1826-1905) will be portrayed by Jon Brendel; Smith Squiers (1856-1920) by Philip Andersen; Elsie Heverly Eller Condon (1892-1989) by Alex McClure; Virginia Sarchett Castek (1917-2010) by DeEtta Andersen; and Paul Roseberry (1913-2001) by John Stuelke.
