Garrison Lions Beef and Noodle Fundraiser, March 23
Join us on Saturday March 23, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for our 4th Annual Beef & Noodles fundraiser. You can either dine in or grab and go. Everything will take place at the Fire Station in Garrison. We will also be handing out the items you ordered during our food sales drive at the same time.The menu will be homemade Beef & Noodles, green beans, a roll, and fruit.

GARDEN MONTH AT CENTER POINT LIBRARY: Friends of the Center Point Library is hosting Linn County Master Gardener free programs each Monday in March at 6:30 p.m. at the Library. March 11 – “Monarchs and Milkweeds” by August Bergstrom. March 18 – “Curb Appeal-Where to Start” by Deb Walser, includes many before and after slides. March 25 – “Connect, Grow, Share a Row,” by Beula Dovork, about what you can do to combat hunger in Linn County.
Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast March 2nd, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The Vinton Kiwanis would like to invite you to attend the annual pancake breakfast which will be held at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School. The event will be held from 7:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2nd. The group uses the funds raised through the event to purchase dictionaries for 3rd grade elementary students, to make improvements at Kiwanis Park, the annual Easter egg hunt, bike rodeo, V-S Scholarships, Christmas for children in Special Education.

Benton Community FFA To Hold Service Auction

This annual event promises an evening filled with fellowship, delicious treats, and the opportunity to support our local FFA chapter. This event will take place on Sunday, March 3rd at 5:30 PM at the Van Horne Community Center.

The Iowa DNR will be hosting four frog and toad call survey training workshops in 2024; 2 in person and 2 live online via Zoom. These workshops are for anybody interested in getting involved in Iowa's Frog and Toad Call Survey which has been collecting data on our state's amphibians for over 30 years! Mushroom class will help gatherers identify Iowa mushroomsMushroom gatherers and wild-harvested mushroom sellers from across the state are encouraged to attend Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Wild-Harvested Mushroom Certification Class this spring. The class is an especially important resource for those looking to sell wild-harvested mushrooms, as sellers are legally required to complete a certification workshop in order to sell eight different varieties of wild-harvested mushrooms.
