Join the Fun and play Cribbage

The Vinton Skate Center hosts a Cribbage Club that meets on the following dates. March 31, April 7,14,21 from 9:00-10:00 am  Whether new or skilled in Cribbage, join us for the drop-in Cribbage Club. The 500 Club is on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Skate Center.

Free early literacy program for families

Better Tomorrows Early Childhood IA is partnering with ISU Extension to provide a free, virtual program for parents of children age 3-6 in Benton and Tama counties.  Classes and books are available in English as well as Spanish and flyers are attached for both.  Space is limited so encourage families that you work with to register soon.Our Bookshelf is a weekly, 30-minute virtual course that uses a dialogic reading technique and provides parents with free books and lots of ideas on how to make reading fun for parents and kids.

IOWA AUTHOR LINDA BETSINGER MCCANN TALKS PROHIBITION IN EASTERN IOWA MAY 2

The Center Point Library will host Shell Rock grandma Linda Betsinger McCann. Years ago sge started writing down Eastern Iowa history stories so her grandkids wouldn’t be ignorant of their past. She’s never quit writing for them and, luckily, for the rest of us.She’ll be at the Center Point Library Community Room Monday, May 2, at 7 p.m. doing a free program about her book “Prohibition in Eastern Iowa.

Garrison 1st Responders Fundraising Spaghetti Supper and Auction, April 2

The Garrison 1st Responders will hold a Spaghetti Dinner and Auction on Saturday, April 2. Doors will open at the Garrison Emergency Servcices building at 5:00 p.m. with dinner being served at 5:30 pm. A Silent Auction will be held until 6:30 p.m. with the Live Auction beginning at 7:00 p.m.The cost for the meal will be $10 for Adults and $5 for Children 12 & Under.

Vinton Class of 1960 class reunion date set for September 17

Vinton's Class of 1960 will hold their 60th Class Reunion, on Saturday, September 17th at noon at the Pizza Ranch in Vinton.
