Upcycle Gift Bags, Bows & Tags, November 14th, 6:00PM - 7:30PM at Benton County Nature CenterReduce, reuse, recycle, gift! We will be making gift bags, creating unique bows and custom gift tags during this program. Bring in old calendars, wrapping paper and cards to give them new life! BCC will have some items to create a gift bag, tags and bows. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages.
Art Scavenger Hunt deadline Nov. 1st
The Vinton Guild of Fine Arts Scavenger Hunt is coming to a close on November 1st. The Scavenger Hunt was undertaken this year in celebration of the Guild’s 10 year anniversary, and involves 25 intriguing questions about the various public artworks that VGFA has sponsored and/or produced since its inception in 2014. Kirkwood Veterinary Technician Program to Host Open House Oct. 12
Kirkwood Community College's Veterinary Technician program will host its annual open house on Saturday, October 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Veterinary Technology Center on the institution's main campus in Cedar Rapids. The event offers the community an opportunity to learn more about the veterinary technician program and profession, with students showcasing the dogs they have been working with throughout the term.
Hawkeye Community College Hosts Automation Education Event November 7
In response to the increasing demand for skilled workers trained in automation technologies, Hawkeye Community College, in collaboration with FANUC America and Mission Learning Systems, will host an exciting event to address how automation is transforming the industrial workforce in Iowa.This event will bring together leaders from education, industry and government to discuss the future of manufacturing and the vital role that educational institutions play in preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers.

The Vinton Public Library will be spending the week of October 20-26, 2024, celebrating its Friends of the Library group as part of the 19th annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week. The Friends of the Library will celebrate by having a table at the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department Spooktacular Day in downtown Vinton on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
