Tenderloin Dinner at American Legion in Vinton, Thursday January 27

The American Legion George G Luckey Post 57 will hold their Tenderloin dinner on Thursday, January 27, from 5-7 p.m. at the Legion 105 North R Ave. in Vinton. The menu will include an 8 oz. Tenderloin, French Fries, Cole Slaw, and a dessert for $10.00.

Free Tax Assistance at the Vinton Public Library

Once again, the AARP Foundation, in conjunction with the IRS, is providing free income tax assistance at the Vinton Public Library starting in February. Appointments will take place in the library meeting room, but must be scheduled by calling Donna at 319-475-2272.

Vinton-Shellsburg Band to hold Soup Supper Friday, January 28

This Friday night, the Vinton-Shellsburg Band will hold their soup supper from 5 to 7 p.m. at the high school cafeteria. The event helps to support the Vinton-Shellsburg Band. Please mark your calendar and help the kids!

FREE LOVE AT THE LIBRARY IN CENTER POINT

Hope so ‘cause a little love, freely given, is something everybody could use right now.And Friends of the Center Point Library is offering it with “Love at the Library,” a free Valentine’s concert by The Laid Back Band, Thursday night, February 10, from 6 to 8 in the Library community room.Wear your heart on your sleeve and your dancing shoes; bring your kids and your granny; and come listen/dance to classic love songs like “The Way You Look Tonight,” “Stand by Me,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and, who knows, maybe some 21st century stuff, too.

VFW to hold Soup Supper Wednesdays during January

VFW Post 8884 will be hosting Soup Supper Wednesdays every Wednesday in January. Soup will be served from 5-8:00 p.m.Every week they will serve their "Award Winning" VFW Chili along with 2 other kinds. Choices vary from chicken noodle, vegetable, beef, tomato and more.Cost is a freewill donation and to-go orders are welcome!The VFW Post is located at 5999 25th Ave.
