VS Bowling Family Fun Tournament Fundraiser
The fun begins on October 24th from 1-4 p.m. at Berry's Lanes in Vinton. The cost is $20 per entry and money raised will go to support the team.All ages are welcome to play.There will be a silent auction which includes but may not be limitd to: Storm 3 ball rolling totesAutographed AJ Chapman bowling pinsBrunswick/DV8 bowling ball14 lb. Be You Bravely Registration Deadline is this Friday
Be You Bravely, is a one day conference put together by a team of area Christian women. These women seek to bring teenage girls together to talk about issues that affect them. All 8th through 12th grade girls are welcome to attend. The event includes guest speakers Lindsay Leahy, Jessica Heims, and Becky Geerdes. There will be worship, activities as well as a luncheon. Shellsburg American Legion Annual Fall Fish Fry October 22
Shellsburg American Legion will hold their Annual Fall Fish Fry on October 22 from 4-8:00 p.m. The event will be curbside pickup or takeout with limited delivery. The meal will be the usual fish, baked potato, coleslaw and cupcake for dessert.Adults and Children $10, 4 and under Free.
The Shellsburg American Legion is making a donation toward a new flagpole at the city library which was damaged during the derecho.

Garrison Firefighters and volunteers are ready to rain more terror than ever before on those who dare to cross its threshold. The annual event is a production by the Garrison Firefighters, First Responders, Auxiliary members and a squad of volunteers.
Ready, Set, Glow on October 16
Partnering with the VPRD, the family of Nathan Hesson is organizing a Glow Fun Run on Nathan's Miles Glow Trail on October 16! There will be music, yard games, food trucks and of course, lots of stuff that glows! Kids will run at 6:30 p.m. (from the road at Anderson's Addition to the HS corner), and the adult run begins at 7:30 p.m. (heading north to the Lutheran Home, past Tilford & Marvin Lindsey Fields, then following the trail back to the HS corner).
