Here's your chance to catch up with fellow Vinton residents and catch a baseball game at the annual "Vinton Community Night at the Cedar Rapids Kernels." The Kernels will take on the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Saturday, July 13th with the game getting underway at 5:05 PM. A post-game concert and fireworks will follow the conclusion of the game.
Best of all, the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is still distributing tickets to the game AT NO COST for anyone that wants to attend. We are fortunate to have had a number of businesses within Vinton generously sponsor the cost of these tickets so that kids and their families can attend for free. Tickets can be picked up at the Vinton Recreation Center on Wednesday through Friday between the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. All remaining tickets (if any) will be available at the Vinton Community Swimming Pool during the afternoon on Saturday. We will be distributing tickets on a first-come-first-served basis and once the sponsored tickets are gone, they're gone! If your child is interested in being a part of pre-game activities such as the "High Five Tunnel," helping carry a giant American flag onto the field during the National Anthem, or the pre-game on-field kid's parade, please show up to the stadium by 4:15. Hurry in right away to claim your seats!
Be sure to thank the following sponsors for their great support in making these tickets available!
