MARIE TSCHOPP
PERFORMS AS LAURA INGALLS WILDER
VINTON—Experience the recently rejuvenated historic Horridge House and see Laura Ingalls Wilder come to life as Marie Tschopp, dressed in pioneer costume, shares stories from the life and works of this beloved author. Audiences will laugh as Marie describes Grandpa’s adventure with a pig on a sled, cheer when Laura gets even with Nellie, and despair at the destruction of Pa's wheat crop. With anecdotes from Laura’s books as well as selections from speeches and letters written by Laura herself, listeners will discover why Laura said "The real things haven't changed; they can never change."
A professional storyteller since 1991, Marie has told Laura’s stories across country to audiences throughout the Midwest and Virginia. She is a member of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association and resides in Sherrard, Illinois.
