Events and Activities : Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 5th

Hundreds of high school jazz musicians will perform in Vinton Saturday; the public is welcome.

The Vinton-Shellsburg High School will be host to the 2011 NEIBA Jazz Festival on Saturday, March 5th. This event will feature 24 High School and Middle School Jazz Bands from all over the Northeast Iowa District. Two of the jazz bands featured at the event will be the Vinton-Shellsburg Middle School Jazz Band (Performance Time- 9:00 A.M.) and Vinton-Shellsburg High School Jazz Band (Performance Time-4:45 P.M.). There is an entrance fee for the event this year implemented by the NEIBA district: $5.00 adults; k-12 students are free. Other area bands scheduled to participate include: Center Point-Urbana HS (8:55 A.M.), Benton Community HS (11:35 A.M.), and Union HS (3:55 P.M.).
