The Benton County Society will host guest presenter historian Craig Bishop of Hutchinson, Minnesota. He will present the unbelievable but remarkable true story of Billy Sunday. The event will take place at the Vinton Depot on Sunday, August 21 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The depot is located at 612 2nd Ave. in Vinton.
Billy was born near Ames, Iowa on November 19. 1862. unfortunately, because of family circumstances, Billy and his brother were forced to go to the Iowa Soldiers' Orphans' Home in Davenport, Iowa, when Billy was only 10 years old.
Billy became a major league baseball player. Then he gave up his promising career to become one of the country's most famous Christian evangelists. Billy was known for his fiery, yet down-to-earth dynamic style of preaching.

Bishop will have his book for sale at the event.
