The Vinton Public Library will host Darrin Crow on Monday, February 20th. Crow will begin his presentation at 2:00 p.m.

Crow will be sharing Iowa history through storytelling. He plans to share stories about two different wars in Iowa, the Honey War and the Bill Johnson War. Crow said, "Both are relatively obscure stories of pretty absurd things that happened in one part of Iowa that affected things all across the state. One is the result of a surveying error, and the other grows out of a massive con operation. Both contain larger than life characters and headshakingly odd happenings."

Crow added, "I have been telling stories in one form or another for about thirty years. I love stories of all kinds, but stories from Iowa history especially fascinate me. We often forget what a great place we live in and what a powerful influence Iowa has had on our national history. I spend my time in schools, libraries, museums, festivals, and other places sharing stories with people and helping people share their stories."
