Events and Activities : Plan a weekend at the Pool July 12-13

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is offering a number of events on July 12th & 13th to keep your family busy! The 'Lei-zy Days of Summer Luau Pool Party' will take place from 6-8 PM on Friday, July 12th. Get your swimsuit on and hula on down to the pool for this tropical-themed event where games, contests and prizes will be offered throughout the evening. Regular admission rates apply and season passes will be honored. Following the conclusion of the Luau Party on Friday evening, head on up to Riverside Park where VPRD will be having its annual 'Palace in the Park' event. The FREE movie being shown at the bandshell is the 2011 release 'Zookeeper' starring Kevin James. This family-comedy movie has a 'PG' rating and a runtime of 102 minutes. Concessions will be sold so all you will need to bring is your lawn chairs, blankets and bugspray! From 10 AM - 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 13th, the Vinton Community Swimming Pool will be opening its doors to all VPRD 2013 summer program participants and their families. This includes participants in VPRD's golf, tennis, playground, blastball, t-ball, and little league programs. All participants in attendance can enjoy the pool and will even have the opportunity to win a prize!
