Rick Zimpher and the staff of Ron-Da-Voo in Vinton are preparing to welcome up to 500 motorcycle rider and automobile drivers to Vinton on Saturday, July 13.

The riders will be participating in the second annual Memorial Ride and Drive for the Girls, which honors cousins Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins who were reported missing a year ago.

The riders will begin in Waterloo and make a stop in Quasqueton before arriving in Vinton at around 2 p.m. They will continue on to Traer before returning to Waterloo for an evening concert and fund-raiser. Funds raised by this event will go toward a memorial for the girls at the park where they were last seen.

First Avenue between 4th and 5th Street will be closed for a few hours Saturday because of this event.
