Bubblegum Bingo November 14th

Saturday, November 14     4-6 PM at the Vinton Skate & Activity Center. Kids in grades 1st through 5th are invited to join us for pizza, pop, contests, bingo, prizes, a ton of fun and, oh yeah, lots and lots of bubblegum! The cost is only $10 per participant and the deadline to register is Wednesday, November 11.

Parent/Child Turkey Shoot Free-Throw Contest

Sunday, November 8th   2 PM at the Vinton Recreation Center Teams consisting of a parent and child will compete for their chance to win a turkey courtesy of Fareway in Vinton.

Tot Lot

Select Wednesdays and Fridays November through February      9:30-11:30 AM at the Vinton Recreation Center. Tot Lot is a wonderful opportunity for pre-school aged children and younger to burn off some of that winter energy while interacting with other kids in an physically and mentally stimulating environment.

3rd Annual VS Alumni Basketball Game set for Dec. 19

Still Got Game? The Vinton-Shellsburg alumni men's basketball event returns for its third annual event again this year.  Date: Dec 19th first game starts at 10:00 Also 3 point shooting contest Team Rosters need to be submitted by Dec 4th.

The Flourishing Families of Benton and Iowa Counties (FFBIC), a local Community Partnership for Protecting Children site, is hosting two opportunities in Benton County for parents, service providers, and community members to have their voice heard.

MONARCHS! Join Benton County Naturalist Karen Phelps as she shares the fascinating world of the Monarch butterfly. Phelps has made numerous trips to the Mexico overwintering grounds of the Monarch and will share her experiences as well as cover the life cycle of this remarkable insect.
