Annual Band Booster Soup Supper tonight

Friday Jan. 17 (tonight) from 5-7 p.m. the Band Boosters along with the Vinton Shellsburg band programs are having their annual soup supper.  Tickets can be purchased from a middle school or high school band student as well as at the door.

IBSSS forum rescheduled for Jan. 22

The Forum/ ICN Meeting scheduled for today January 16, at the Iowa Braille School, has postponed until Wednesday, January 22 due to weather.   As Patrick Clancy plans to retire from his position as Superintendent of both the Iowa School for the Deaf and the Iowa Braille and Sight-Saving School later this year, Iowa education officials are seeking input from affected families and citizens as they seek to replace Clancy and choose programs and priorities for the future.

North Eden Willing Workers Met January 5th

NEWW met at the Luther Home conference house on January 5th. Everyone told what the best part of Christmas break was for them. We discussed the different service projects that we have been doing.

FRIENDS OF CP LIBRARY OFFERS ‘GENEALOGY ON A SHOESTRING’

You can learn—hands on, with a patient teacher at your elbow--how to use free software to trace your family tree at a genealogy workshop sponsored by Friends of the Center Point Library on Saturday morning, February 22, from 10 to noon, at the Center Point Urbana High School.

VSBC baseball, softball sign-up set for Jan. 26

Spread the word! 2014 Registration for VSBC Softball and Baseball is on Sunday, January 26th at Tilford Elementary cafeteria. There will be a short meeting prior to each age group so it would be appreciated if parents would attend with their players.

Melissa Geiger to speak at After 5 event Jan. 14

The Vinton After Five Club will take place on Tues. Jan 14, at 6:15 p.m.,  featuring Melissa Gieger  speaking of her experiences as a nurse on her 2 trips on the Mercy Ship to Africa.
