A reorganization meeting of the Benton County Community Foundation will take place on Thursday, January 30 at 6:30pm in the meeting room of U.S. Bank located at 110 W. 4th St., Vinton; refreshments will be provided. The purpose of the meeting is to find out how the community foundation operates and to establish a new committee to educate our citizens about the workings of the foundation and promote charitable giving to improve the quality of life in our community.
The Benton County Community Foundation was established a number of years ago but has had limited activity recently. It is a local, non-profit, charitable affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa (CFNEIA). Jamar Thompson, Affiliate Development Director of CFNEIA, will make a brief presentation at the meeting to give direction for reorganization.
All rural and urban area residents interested in finding out more about the Benton County Community Foundation, and possibly serving on this new committee, are invited to attend this meeting. Questions regarding the Benton County Community Foundation can be directed to Jamar Thompson at 319-287-9106 ext. 14 or jthompson@cfneia.org.
The Benton County Community Foundation has been created by and for the people of Benton County.
