The Iowa State University Extension and two local banks are inviting area farmers and residents interested in the impact of the 2014 Farm Bill to three separate meetings.
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 9:30 a.m., Farmers Savings Bank & Trust-Vinton will host a session at Oak Grove Church north of Shellsburg.
US Bank will host meetings at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, in the US Bank Community Room.
Topics include: base reallocation, yield updating, Price Loss Coverage, At-Risk Coverge, the Supplemental Coverage Option, the Dairy Margin Protection Program and the non-insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program.
Speakers will be farm management specialist Ryan Drollette and/or county executive director Patrick Derdzinski.
The sessions are free, but participants must pre-register 48 hours in advance. To register call the Benton County Extension Service at 319-472-4739.
