"This silent auction is going to be spectacular," says coach Ashley Hesson. "Bidding will start around 11am and will finish up at 6pm - all happening in the Braille School gymnasium. Stop in, have a walking taco for lunch, make some bids...come back for another for supper and get your final bids in. Oh, and you'll be helping an amazing family through the challenge of a lifetime. Every penny spent goes directly to the Moore family."
The Love for Lizzy Facebook page includes a variety of links for people to help the family, either through signing up for the swimming event, or for arranging to bring them meals while they focus on helping Lizzy get the medical care she needs.Lizzy was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in January.
The fund-raiser will take place Saturday, March 17, and Saturday, March 24, at the Iowa Braille School pool, where VS teams have their practices and home meets.
The swimmers are signed up, and the silent-auction items lined up. Everything is ready for the first Saturday of the two-weekend swim-a-thon fund-raiser to help VS/Union swimmer Lizzy Moore and her family as Lizzy fights cancer.
