This Saturday, May 5, the Benton County Courthouse will be open for a special occasion: The dedication of the memorial to Sheriff Leland Fry, who was killed on duty in 1938. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. According to the Sheriff Leland Fry Facebook page, this is a chance to honor a local hero and welcome Fry's family and to pay tribute to two true public servants, Sheriff Fry and his wife, Hazel. The memorial will include a bust of the sheriff, as well as some other historical displays and presentations. See an earlier story about Sheriff Fry and the memorial HERE.
