"Nothing Compares" to the new foods and food stands set to make their Fair debut at the 2011 Iowa State Fair, August 11-21. Sweet, savory, and specialty foods join the list of nearly 200 food choices offered throughout the Fairgrounds.

Fairgoers are one week away from seeing, hearing and tasting all this year's Fair has to offer. Helping to celebrate 100 years of the Butter Cow, fried butter on-a-stick will make its debut. The new buttery treat features butter dipped in a honey-flavored batter, fried golden brown and served on a stick. Additional foods on a stick include fried cheesecake, chocolate covered fried ice cream, and peanut butter and jelly. These treats join more than 50 foods on-a-stick offered at the Fair.

Other new delectable foods require Fairgoers to get a little messy. Although not on a stick, the chicken Philly sandwich and shrimp fries are sure to satisfy an appetite. The new red velvet funnel cake and chocolate lava bites will please any chocoholic's craving.

In addition to these fun foods, the Fair is also featuring a new concession, The Rib Shack. Located just north of Walnut Square, their specialty item, barbeque ribs, provides mouthwatering, fall-off-the-bone meat in a savory sauce.
