First Christian Church introduced their Fall Festival to the Vinton community in 2019. Located at 1209 West 13th Street, the church members come together to create a celebration of autumn with games for children, crafts, baked goods and plants for sale. Each year the profits have been designated for special projects. This year the profits will be used for programing for children and youth.
Children love the Carnival Games and snacks. Along with the games, there will be train rides and a bouncy house. The Carnival Games will be located in booths around the parking lot, with Game tickets selling for 25 cents each. Some fun new games have been added this year, including Pinch a Donut, the Old Fishing Hole, Pro Frisbee Challenge and several others. The prizes are great!
Fall Festival this year will feature a quilt raffle. Chances will be sold to win one of two quilts made by two church members. There will also be a silent auction of baskets made by church members. These baskets will each have a theme including one basket holding a “tree” of gift cards which can be used locally. There will be a huge plant sale, including over 90 house plants. Members have been busy creating fall decorations and many other craft items. There will be a bake sale, and lunch will also be served in the fellowship hall or as a carryout.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” First Christian Church is celebrating the season of the Harvest. Please join the Celebration!
