Events and Activities : Cooling Dancers recital, Post-Prom Holiday dinner set for Dec. 18

Christmas themes and Santa-related dances will be part of the recital on Sunday.

Cooling Dancers and the VS Post Prom Committee invite you to the “Holiday Dance Extravaganza 2011” at the VSHS Auditorium this Sunday, Dec. 18.

Three performances will be given, at 1, 4, and 7 p.m. and admission to any performance is $2 at the door. Each performance is approximately an hour, and features different dancers and routines in each show.

Preschool and kindergarten children will dance about Santa, his elves, dolls, and more and they are always an audience favorite. Elementary children and older will perform tap, jazz, and ballet routines featuring many familiar holiday selections. They have been hard at work to bring enthusiastic and polished routines to the stage. Included this year is a “Nutcracker Miniature” section with ballerinas and mice, dancing kick-lines, a visit to the Polar Express, and a trip back to the “Charlie Brown” Christmas. The recital opening is performed by 31 enthusiastic dancers ages 8 to 18 who have been working an extra night each week in preparation.

Again this year, Santa Claus will be at the event to spread his cheer and to meet all of the children. We invite all of our little guests to visit with him.

Holiday Dinner

Throughout the day, the VSHS Junior Parents will be serving a Holiday Dinner with all proceeds going to the VS Post Prom Event. They are serving turkey and dressing, along with assorted veggies and desserts. Join us for dinner, $2 for children 9 and under, and $4 ages 10 through adult. Dinner is served from noon to 7 p.m.
