Events and Activities : Support group for parents of children with heart defects to meet Feb. 2

The Waterloo Chapter of Heart Friends, a support group for families of children with congenital heart defects, will host a support group meeting on Thursday, February 2,  at 7 p.m. The group will meet at Covenant Medical Center in the Outpatient/Women’s Center on the 4th floor in Classroom 11. Guest speaker, Dr. Susan Elizabeth Haynes, a pediatric cardiologist from Iowa City, will present "What to expect when your child has a cardiac catheterization."

Heart Friends was founded in 2000 and supported through services from the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network to provide support for children and families receiving cardiac care.

The Waterloo Chapter offers support group meetings featuring various speakers focused on educating parents about various heart defect topics. There is no cost to attend the support group meetings. For more information, call 319.272.7334.
