On Wednesday, September 19, Kirkwood Community College’s recreation facility will be transformed into a higher education shopping mall. The annual Eastern Iowa College Fair expects as many as 1,500 prospective students and their parents to be in attendance.

Students and their parents will be able to speak with representatives of nearly 100 public and private colleges and universities from Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

“There isn’t a better opportunity to have this many college and university representatives in one setting for juniors and seniors to visit with in eastern Iowa,” said Kirkwood Dean of Admissions and Student Life Doug Bannon. “This allows families to really start to narrow down the college search and maybe come up with a list of possible college campuses to visit.”

The college fair is free and open to all interested persons. It’s on Wednesday, September 19, from 9-11 a.m. in the Michael J Gould Kirkwood Recreation Center. More information on the college fair is available from the Kirkwood Admissions office, 398-5517.
