Center Point Friends of the Library quilt show committee met Dec. 27 for planning to make the New Year bright with another quilt show and fabric and book sale. The 2013 version will be Saturday, Jan. 26, from 9 to 2 in the Library basement.

On sale to benefit the Library will be donated fabrics, needlework kits, supplies and quilting and needlework books.

The committee also planned a display of quilts, needlepoint and other fancywork by the late Lucelle Lewis Beatty of Center Point. The show of some of Lucelle’s large production of needlework will be put together with the help of her daughter Eloise Dennis, of Lewis Bottoms south of Center Point.

Also for sale for a special quilt show price will be the book “Lewis Bottoms Its Legacy and Lore.” Eloise has donated copies of her 2004 brainchild book, written by Elinor Day, to Friends to benefit the Library. The book, filled with photographs, is about the history of Lewis Bottoms and its early families.

Working on the quilt show planning were: Christina Lahr, Friends president; Vicki Thompson; Marj Pepin; Kim Schantz; Sharon Hannen and Eloise Dennis.
