PEO Chapter MZ will meet Monday, March 12, at 1:30, at Windsor Manor will Dorla Hilmer as hostess and Marilyn Mehlhaus as co-hostess. Pat DeKlotz will present the program on Iowa Projects.

Another effort to thank firefighters and other first responders for their around-the-clock work after the downtown fire broke out is under way. The Vinton-Shellsburg High School Student Senate has started a Vinton Strong t-shirt drive.

In January, Lizzy Moore, a senior member of the Vinton-Shellsburg/Union girls swim team, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins's Lymphoma. While Lizzy is undergoing chemotherapy, her teammates on the VS/Union swim team, as well as the boys on the VS/CPU swim team, are joining Lizzy's family and friends in organizing a two-weekend swimming event to show support for Lizzy and her family and help raise funds to help cover the costs of fighting the disease.
