Vinton is the place to be tonight as a variety of holiday events and events to honor veterans are on the calender.  LIONS CHILI SUPPER : It begins at 4:30 tonight with the Vinton Lions Club Chili Supper.

    Sunday November 21st, join North Benton Ambulance Service from 7am until 12 Noon at theV/S High School for a FREE Pancake Breakfast!    A free will donation will be taken at the breakfast to help cover the cost for a new, much needed LUCAS CPR device.

Area Breast Cancer Survivors will meet at the Pizza Ranch on Wednesday, November 17, a room has been reserved. Dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. with conversation to follow.

The Tour deLights 5K run will be held on December 12th this year.  The race will start at 5 p.m. with registration at 4 p.m. The race will begin at the US Bank Community Building.

  A series of risk and margin management workshop will be held for cattle feeders from Dec. 9-17 across northern Iowa.  All workshops will be from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

  The Heritage Area Agency on Aging will host its annual Caregiver Wellness Day event Friday, Nov. 19, 2010.  “A Celebration of Caregivers” is designed to give support and encouragement to informal caregivers of older adults in East Central Iowa and to help them focus on their own health and well-being.

  It's never too early to start making plans for the Christmas season! As we did last year, Vinton Unlimited is partnering with our local merchants to help kick off the Christmas shopping season the right way!  We've got some great activities planned in November and hope you will join us for all of them!    November 18  The 2nd Annual Lighted Holiday Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting will begin at 6:00pm.

  The Vinton Alzheimer Support Group is led by Sharon Carpenter – please contact Sharon at 319-573-5605 for more information.  The group meets monthly at Windsor Manor but will not have meetings through the winter.
