Vinton Christmas & Veteran\'s activities begin tonight

Vinton is the place to be tonight as a variety of holiday events and events to honor veterans are on the calender.

LIONS CHILI SUPPER : It begins at 4:30 tonight with the Vinton Lions Club Chili Supper. The event continues through 7:30 p.m. at the Vinton Fire Station.

A free-will offering will be accepted at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, which pays to send WWII veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the Memorial built to honor them and other military sites.

Door Prize will be a custom made duck and goose call by Leo Othmer, Midwest Game Calls!

Patriotic Veterans Christmas Parade: Join local veterans groups for the 2nd Annual Lighted Holiday Parade brought to you by the Vinton Chapter of the VFW & Am. Vets.

SANTA! Stick around at the Courthouse lawn after the parade to see the lighting of the Christmas Trees and bring the kids to visit Santa!

VGH Tree Lighting: The Tree of Lights fund-raiser kicks off at 7 in the hospital lobby. Come help celebrate the generosity of area residents toward VGH and its services.

There will also be a free pancake breakfast Sunday to benefit the North Benton Ambulance Service.

SUNDAY, November 21st, join North Benton Ambulance Service from 7am until 12 Noon at theV/S High School for a FREE Pancake Breakfast!

A free will donation will be taken at the breakfast to help cover the cost for a new, much needed LUCAS CPR device.

Following this from 12 noon until 4pm- Get a start on your Christmas Shopping and get some great deals around town during Vinton's Christmas Open House! Activities and deals throughout Vinton to get your shopping started the right way. Llamas, Alpacas, Fresh Apples, Hot Cider, Free Holiday Movie with VGH at the Palace Theatre starting at 2:00 p.m., and many other activities for the family all afternoon! Don't miss it!
