May is scholarship month and the Vinton Area Dollars for Scholars is selling refillable cups that can be used at John’s Qwik Stop in Vinton. For $20 customers will be allowed unlimited free refills of coffee or fountain pop from May 1 to September 1.

John Ketchen was on the original charter for the Vinton Area Dollars for Scholars in 1991. When approached about this fund raising idea he was excited about the opportunity to be involved.

The cups will be available May 1 at John’s Qwik Stop (814 C Ave) and the Vinton Fareway Store (501 A Ave) from 8 a.m. until noon. All proceeds will be used to award scholarships to graduating seniors in the Vinton/Shellsburg school district.
