Events and Activities : “Tee ‘em low & Let ‘em roll:” VU Mini-Masters begins Feb. 9

"Tee ‘em High & Let ‘em Fly!” 

That’s what my uncle would always say when I went golfing with him and I stepped up to the tee box. Now, in this case, you may actually have more success if you “tee ‘em low, and let ‘em roll” since this course is going to be played indoors, but the sentiment is still there. In case you haven’t heard yet, the VU Mini-Masters is coming up fast! On February 9th, 10th, & 11th you will have the opportunity to putt your way through over 20 places of business in Vinton. These business owners and their staff have put hours and hours of time into creating the perfect, challenging, fun hole for you to experience and they would love to have you stop by and check it out.

There is no need to bring a putter or golf balls as everything you need will be provided. If you haven’t played before, this is your opportunity and one you won’t want to miss! Each year, the creativity of the local business community gets more and more exciting. You can play the course at your own pace over the 3 day event and make sure you bring some friends to challenge while having some great fun!

The course changes every year and we have some new participating businesses this year who have never hosted a hole before. You can pick up scorecards and maps at any of the participating businesses. You’ll want to make sure you get to as many holes as possible because the people who play the most will be entered to win one of six - $25 gift certificates that can be used at over 100 local businesses! Last year we had 50 people get around to every hole and another 10 get around to all but one hole! This has grown bigger and better each year and it is definitely THE event of the winter!

So, grab your friends, family, or a couple of strangers off the street and play the course in any order at any pace. Don’t forget to leave your scorecard at the last hole you play so we can get you in the drawing for prizes! You might even find that you can win prizes at individual holes.
