July 11, 2017 The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular adjourned session with Supervisors Wiley, Primmer, and Bierschenk present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Primmer moved/ Bierschenk seconded: Approve the minutes of June 27, 2017 and June 30, 2017. Motion carried.

The Vinton-Shellsburg school board met on Thursday, July 13that 5:15 in regular session. All board members were present with the exception of Director Timmermans. There were no visitors or public comments. Matt Kingsbury and Tony Islas provided an overview of the high school students' achievement for 2016-17 and work on the building's improvement goals.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is looking for qualified applicants for a Secretary 2 based out of the USDA Service Center located at 1705 West D Street, Vinton, Iowa. This position will be a key member of the Benton County Conservation Team, providing administrative support to customers and office staff. The ability to operate office technology, and maintain and reconcile financial records along with excellent customer service skills is essential.

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Primmer moved/ Bierschenk seconded: Approve the minutes of June 20, 2017. Motion carried. Bierschenk moved/Primmer seconded: Approve payment of checks numbered 223713 through 223889, payroll checks numbered 139538 through 139558, and ACH deposits numbered 31283 through 31416, vendor checks numbered 223890 through 223894.
