Call to Order
President Sue Gates called the regular meeting to order at 5:15 p.m.at the Vinton-Shellsburg High School.

473. It was moved by and seconded by to accept the consent items as presented.
Motion carried 7/0.
Public Hearing on Proposed 2015-16 Budget and Budget Amendment for the 2014-15 Budget
President Gates opened the hearing at 5:30 p.m. The superintendent gave an overview of the highlights of the budget. The public had no questions so President Gates closed the hearing at p.m.
Approve Budget for the 2015-16 Year and Budget Amendment for 2014-15
474. It was moved to adopt the 2015-16 budget and the 2014-15 budget amendment as published. Motion carried 7/0.
Approve 2015-16 Teacher and Extra-Curricular Staffing Plans
475. It was moved by and seconded by to approve the staffing plan as presented with the understanding thee may be some shifts in final assignments. Motion carried 7/0.
Approve Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract, and Estimated Cost for the MS Office Renovations Project
476. It was moved by and seconded by to approve the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for the Middle School Office renovations. Motion carried 7/0.
Approval of Proposals for the Middle School Office Renovations Project
477. It was moved by and seconded by for the district to award the contract for construction for the MS Office Renovations Project to for $ . Motion carried 7/0.
Public Hearing on 2015-16 School Calendar
478. It was moved by and seconded by to approve the 2015-16 calendar that is based on hours and beginning August 24th. Motion carried 7/0.
Approve 2015 Graduating Class List and Diplomas
479. It was moved by and seconded by to approve the list of Vinton-Shellsburg’s 2015 graduates as presented. Motion carried 7/0.
Second Reading for the 800 Series of Board Policies: Buildings and Sites
480. It was moved by and seconded by to approve the 800 series of board policies. Motion carried 7/0.
Legislative Update
Superintendent Hainstock shared the latest legislature’s work.
Proclamation for Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week May 4-8, 2015 and Iowa School Board Recognition Month (May)
479. It was moved by and seconded by to approve the Proclamation for Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week May 4-8, 2015 and Iowa School Board Recognition Month of May. Motion carried 7/0. President Gates read the proclamation.

Move into Exempt Session to Discuss Negotiation Strategies as Allowed by Iowa Code 20.17(3)
480. It was moved by and seconded by to move into exempt session at p.m. to discuss negotiation strategies as allowed by Iowa Code 20.17(3). Motion carried 7/0.
By consensus the board will move from exempt session to open session at p.m.
