All Charges are subject to review by The Benton County Attorney’s Office. An arrest or criminal charge is merely an accusation and the Defendant is presumed innocent and unless proven guilty. Intrastate Warrants are issued by Law Enforcement Agencies for crimes happening in their jurisdictions.

Adult Arrests

July 3: Maurice R. Davis, 31, Vinton; Intrastate Warrant

July 3: Jeffrey T. Spencer, 45, Vinton: Intrastate Warrant

July 8: Russell D. Schwartz, 23, Vinton; Charged with Harassment 1st Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor).

July 9: Edward J. Finley, 40, Vinton: Intrastate Warrant

July 23: Tammy K. Munson, 48, Belle Plaine; Intrastate Warrant

July 23: Joshua D. Forrester, 25, Belle Plaine; Intrastate Warrant

July 24: Gabriel W. Burkhart, 21, Waterloo; Charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor). Citation issued for Careless Driving.

Juvenile Referrals

June 27: A 17 year old female was referred to Juvenile Probation for Public Intoxication (Simple Misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct (Simple Misdemeanor).

June 28: Two 14 year old females were referred to Juvenile Probation for Criminal Mischief 4th Degree (Serious Misdemeanor) and Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor).

June 28: A 15 year old male was referred to Juvenile Probation for Criminal Mischief 5th Degree (Simple Misdemeanor) and Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor).

June 28: A 13 year old female was referred to Juvenile Probation for Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor).

Fourteen Citations were issued in July. One resulted from one reported traffic accidents, four for curfew violations, and the remainder for other offenses.

Twenty-six Written Warnings were issued in July.

One Parking/Street Storage Violation was issued in July.

For the month of July, 178 complaints/calls for service were handled by the Vinton Police Department.
