Government : Election officials becoming familiar with new online voter registration options

The Iowa Secretary of State's Office has now given Iowans an option to register to vote online via the same web page used to renew driver's licenses.

Local election officials are just learning about the new program.

"It comes through my database the same sort of way it would if you would register to vote while updating your Driver’s License," says Benton County Election Clerk Gina Elder. "I am eager to see how it all works."
