The filing period for candidates seeking county office begins today and ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. This is for the June 7 primary election, when county Democrats and Republicans will choose which candidates will represent their parties in November.
Four county offices are up for re-election in 2016: The supervisor seats currently held by Terry Hertle and Don Frese, and the offices of sheriff and auditor.
Both Auditor Jill Marlow and Sheriff Randy Forsyth have announced that they will not seek re-election this year.
