Government : Public Notice regarding FEMA voluntary buyout project

PUBLIC NOTICE Benton County is preparing to submit an application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a proposed voluntary buyout project for owners of single-family homes located in the 100-year flood plain areas that sustained substantial damage from the September 2016 flooding. To be eligible for the proposed buyout, the flood-damaged home must be located inside the 100-year flood plain. Rural Unincorporated property owners that are interested in participating in the proposed buyout must submit a letter to the Benton County Board of Supervisors, P.O. Box 549, Vinton, IA 52349.
