Vinton Municipal Electric Utility (VMEU) General Manager, Tom Richtsmeier reports that the next step in establishing broadband internet service for the Vinton community is scheduled to begin next week.
VMEU has engaged Farr Technologies to prepare design specifications for the proposed broadband project that will serve the city of Vinton. Beginning the week of September 24th, Farr Technologies will have personnel staking out installation routes for five separate service zones that will cover the entire City’s limits.
Farr Technologies is a Sioux Falls, South Dakota based company and is considered an industry leader. They utilize state of the art technologies for projects like iVinton to reduce project costs and deliver a high-quality network. The goal of the iVinton project is to provide fast reliable internet, cable television, and telephone services to the city of Vinton.
