The city has received 9 proposals for the emergency services building so they will begin to sort through those.
The council also discussed water pressure at the Vinton clinic and the inability to discover the cause of the problem. There might need to have a booster pump installed to bring up the volume into the building.
The Vinton Police Department reported that Officer Alex Reiner who has wanted to become a federal agent was hired with the ATF, another officer will be out with a relative who has a serious illness, another out with a death in the family.
During the meeting, there was a brief discussion concerning seats on the council that will be on the November ballot.
This year the seats that will be included are the Mayor's seat, Ron Elwick in the 2nd Ward who will not be seeking re-election, other seats that will on the ballot include 4th ward and one at-large seat for sure, possibly a second depending on Brian Parr's plans for moving out of the city limits. Filing begins August 26th and runs through September 19th. See the Auditor's office for details.
