Vinton-Shellsburg Community Schools

October 28, 2019

Call to Order

President Rob Levis called the special meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Administrative

Office Board Room.

Roll Call / Pledge of Allegiance

Sue Gates, Kathy Van Steenhuyse, Rob Levis, Mike Timmermans, Jason Hicok and

Brenda Barkdoll, Board, Secretary/Treasurer were present with the exception of Brenda Bartz

and Kyle Schminke.

Approve the Agenda

901. It was moved by Van Steenhuyse and seconded by Gates to approve the agenda. Motion carried 5/0.

Presentation by Superintendent Search Firms

Three search firms (McPherson Jacobsen, Grundemeyer Leader Search, and Ray and Associates) shared the work they could do with the board concerning recruiting, interviewing and selecting the next superintendent.

Selection of Search Firm

902. It was moved by Timmermans and seconded by Hicok to hire McPherson Jacobsen and include $10,800 for the services we want included in the search.

Adjournment

Rob Levis adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
