Kelly Rae Geater being sworn in on her first day of the job at the Linn County Treasurer's Office
Kelly Rae Geater, Benton County's former Treasurer was sworn in as a Deputy Linn County Treasurer on Monday morning. She will be serving along with 3 other deputies in the Linn County Treasurer's Office.
Geater said that she is excited to begin a new role with the Linn County Office and to serve the people of Linn County.
She will be assisting the Treasurer in balancing and maintaining the financial and investment schedules and bank accounts for Linn County, and also assisting in the investment of the county funds and helping to prepare the budget, as well as overseeing the financial areas in the Motor Vehicle and Property Tax Divisions.
She is a graduate of The American Institute of Business in Des Moines (1984) with an Associate's Degree in Accounting and Computer Programming.
She worked 24 1/2 years in Benton County as a clerk in both the Treasurer's and Auditor's Office but spent the bulk of her time, 21 years as the Benton County Treasurer.
