The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman were present. The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously. Summarized Resolutions will be available in the Auditor's office and at: www.bentoncountyiowa.org
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve the minutes of March 31, 2020. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Recorder's Quarterly Report ending March 31, 2020. Motion carried.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To authorize signature on the receipt from FEMA for flood insurance for properties the county own in Vinton. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: Approve payroll checks numbered 141224 through 141233, ACH deposits numbered 41251 through 41383 , vendor checks 234697 through 234703 claims numbered 234704 through 234840. Motion carried.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve Sheriff's Quarterly Report ending March 31, 2020. Motion carried.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve Resolution #20-23, Appointing Melinda Schoettmer to fill the Treasurer Vacancy. Motion carried.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve Resolution #20-24, Appoint the Treasurer Deputy Certifications to Rose Sackett and Joy McGowan effective April 7, 2020. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve renewal for Kingston Life to continue providing life insurance coverage and stay with the same ISAC Group 11E Select plan through Group Benefit Partners, and keep same dental and eye. Motion carried.
Discussion on various department's budget amendment requests were had. Auditor Rippel is still waiting on a few, and depending when those amounts come if the publication deadline will be met, and the hearing date might have to be changed accordingly.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To continue keeping the courthouse closed to the public using the Governor's recommendations through April 30, 2020. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To enter into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(1)c and 21.5(1)g Motion carried at 10:33 a.m.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To exit closed session. Motion carried.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To adjourn. Motion carried.
