The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman present. The meeting was held in the Basement of the courthouse in the GIS Conference room. Primmer called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and watch live at the county's YouTube channel. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.

Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve the minutes of May 26, 2020 and May 29, 2020. Motion carried.

Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve the hiring of Benjamin Weekly and Karsyn Semelroth as part-time correctional officers for the sheriff's office at the rate of $14.92 an hour effective June 2, 2020. Motion carried.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve the Secondary Roads Union Contract with Public, Professional & Maintenance Employees Local Union 2003 International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied Traces, AFL-CIO for the period July 1, 2020 through July 1, 2023. Motion carried.

Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve Conservation's plan to move to a level 2 in a three-level scale process for the campgrounds in response to Covid-19. This will go into effect Friday, June 5, 2020. This will open up the playgrounds, and restrooms while still emphasizing social distancing and hygiene. Motion carried.

Scott Hansen, Benton County Emergency Management presented a draft to the board after taking into consideration all the elected officials and department heads requests. This will be used for guidelines for a phased re-opening process to the Benton County public offices. This will go in effect on Monday June 15, 2020. A few tweaks discussed will be made and will get this sent to the newspapers and notify the public of the changes. The restrooms in the courthouse will be closed to the public and we will encourage people to come on an appointment only basis, limiting to county residents as long as possible and maintain social distancing. Benton County will still encourage the use of the phones, websites and e-mail to conduct business as allowed. Other areas discussed was disinfecting, check points and health and security screenings and the debate on requiring masks.
