The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Bierschenk and Seeman present, Primmer joined the meeting by calling in. Bierschenk called themeeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Members of the public were provided the zoom access capability to join in during open session and watch live at the county's YouTube channel. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were approved unanimously.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve the minutes from Tuesday October 13, 2020.
Seeman moved/ Primmer seconded: To set land use hearing date of Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 9:15 a.m. for Robert and Christina Maynard in part of the NW ¼ NE ¼ 27-85-9. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Primmer seconded: To set land use hearing date of Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. for RJ Meyers in part of the SW ¼ SE ¼ of 36-86-11. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Bierschenk seconded: To approve General Assistance Quarterly Report ending September 30, 2020. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Primmer seconded: To approve use of courthouse lawn on November 19, 2020 for Santa and his sleigh. Motion carried.
The time of 9:15 a.m. having arrived, and this being the time and date for a land use hearing for Dennis Hearn in part of NE ¼ of NW ¼ 36-86-10. .Dennis Hearn and Ken Birker were present. Marc Greenlee presented the technical information with the Benton County Agricultural Land Use Preservation Ordinance. Hearn's would like to build a new home on 1 acres of land. The land in review is grass with a CSR of 55. The sight has an existing driveway and meets the requirements. A new well and septic will be required. The proper notice was given to 3 adjacent land owners and the official newspapers. Ken Birker was present to discuss his concerns about his neighboring dairy operation and how he didn't want problems in the future when laws change and the supervisors change as well as house ownership. No other comments were heard, and the public hearing was closed.
Seeman moved/Primmer seconded: To approve the land use hearing for Dennis Hearn in part of NE ¼ of NW ¼ 36-86-10. Motion carried.
Seeman moved/Primmer seconded: To approve Resolution #20-72, Temporary Road Closure from 71st Street thence south 1 mile to 72nd Street along 18th Ave in Union Township, Benton County. Motion carried.
Bierschenk moved/Seeman seconded: To approve Resolution #20-73, Development Agreement with Frontier Natural Products Co-op, approving and authorizing execution of agreement. Motion carried.
Seeman moved//Primmer seconded: To adjourn. Motion carried.
